The Path to Dooms House by Stephen O'Hare - TFS Business Admin Student

As we walked up the path to the deserted old house, the door opened with a creaking noise. My friends started to yell and ran a bit, I said, “Come on in and let’s have a look around to see if there is anyone in the house.” They said no at the start but when I started to walk in they then followed. First we went into the kitchen and then into the living area but there was no one about. After going into those two rooms we then started to go up the creaky staircase and suddenly there was a crying noise. We all then started to panic. We went into the first bedroom and there was nothing, only weird noises, then into the second bedroom and we opened a cupboard door and out jumped a vampire. It started chasing us. We ran down the stairs as fast as we could. Then we got to the front door and an old man jumped out at us. He was wearing old rags and was dirty looking. Just when we were about to scream, they took their masks off and it was my friend Ben’s Mum and Dad.“That was freaky” By Stephen O’Hare – TFS Bus. Admin Studentof your friends can stay next Halloween”. I said I wouldn’t

Feedback from External Verifier during recent visit toHugh J O’Boyle Training Ltd – Childcare Department
"Portfolio’s presented for today’s visit were of an exceptional quality with detailed, holistic assessment applied across units.  All candidates are asked to undertake very specific but detailed reflection of their practice with comment on real events and this type of assessment supports the excellent observations assessors carry out.  The team work very closely together and the internal communication systems are excellent. Overall the management systems for the centre are excellent and the quality of assessment and Internal Verification is excellent.  Detailed records of assessment that utilize diverse methods in a holistic way are making the best use of all naturally occurring evidence and fully meet assessment requirements for the qualifications.  This has been an extremely positive visit with excellent quality practice demonstrated throughout.”

 HALLOWEEN – BY MICHEALA REID

TFS STUDENT

Howling, Growling, Claws and Fangs

Creaking doors and suspicious bangs

Witches cackle, white ghosts scream

Monsters haunt you in dreams

Shadows cast on a moonlit night

Thunder and Lightening cause a fright

Pumpkin heads and walking dead

Creepy things beneath your bed

Halloween comes only once a year

But it never forgets the things you fear!!!

Frightful Night

By Caiomhe Pyper – TFS Childcare Student

On Halloween night I had agreed to babysit as I needed the money, I was babysitting my younger sisters because my mum and dad were invited to a Halloween party. So when they left I put on the television to distract my sisters while I went upstairs to make a phone call. When I was on the phone, I’d lost track of time and forgotten about my sisters. I ran downstairs into the living room to see if they where ok but before I got there I had spotted the front door slightly opened. They were gone!I had searched everywhere in the house and in the garden but I couldn’t find them. So I phoned the police in a blind panic but it was the law that you had to wait 24 hours to make a missing report. I left the house and ran down the street shouting their names ‘LOUISE! ALICE!’  But there was no response. As I was running, I spotted some shady characters and I had asked myself ‘Were my little sisters kidnapped?’ I thought back and I couldn’t remember if I had locked the door or not.  I knew sooner or later I had to call my parents but then I saw two small figures sitting in the park. I ran over to them thinking that it was Louise and Alice. As I got closer, I noticed that it was two other kids so I asked them if they saw two little blonde haired girls. They had! But they said they were with a tall thin man!I ran back home to call my parents to tell them that Louise and Alice were gone. I felt sick and dizzy but when I walked through the front door I saw them sitting on the stairs with my next door neighbour. He explained that he found them wandering the streets looking for my mum and dad. I have never felt so happy and angry at the same time in my life! Of course I told my mum and dad and I was grounded for the rest of my life but there was no doubt that that was the worst Halloween ever!
