These qualifications are ideal for anyone interested in a career in the retail sector - from job seeker or new entrant to supervisor or manager.

City & guilds qcf level 1

Ø  Level 1 Award in Retail Skills

Ø  Level 1 Certificate in Retail Skills

Ø  Level 1 Diploma in Retail Skills

These qualifications allow candidates starting out in the industry to learn, develop & practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the retail industry. 

Units covered include:

Ø  Work effectively in your retail team

Ø  Sales

Ø  Product Expertise

Ø  Organisational Effectiveness

Ø  Stock control

Ø  Merchandising & Visual Merchandising

Ø  Customer Support

Ø  Processing goods

You can specialize in areas such as butchery, deli or green grocery.  Achievement of Level 1 may lead directly to employment and progression to Level 2

Ø  Process customer orders

Ø  Process payments

Ø  Place goods & materials into storage

Ø  Display stock

Ø  Keep stock on sale at required levels

Ø  Merchandising & Visual Merchandising

Ø  Finance & Administration

You can specialize in areas such as butchery, floristry, deli counter or green grocery. The qualifications are adaptable and can be tailored to fit all types of retail businesses and job roles. They prove that you have the right skill to do your job well - which is why so many employers look for people who have one. Ø  Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Retail Skills (Visual Merchandising)

Ø  Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Retail Skills (Sales Professional)

Ø  Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Retail Skills (Management)

These qualifications are for candidates who have worked in the retail industry for some time- they will have plenty of experience, and their work might involve supervising others or managing resources.

Units covered include:

Ø  Produce staffing schedules

Ø  Manage payment process

Ø  Source goods & services

Ø  Monitor & solve customer service problems

Ø  Dress visual merchandising displays to attract customers

Achievement of Level 3 may lead to jobs as sales professionals, visual merchandisers, specialist managers and first line managers.

City & guilds qcf knowledge qualifications

 

Levels 1, 2 & 3 Award/ Certificate in Retail Knowledge

Learn the background knowledge needed to succeed in retail with the Award or Certificate in Retail Knowledge.
